My approach
A critical part of my methodology is framing the right problem before diving into the solving phase. My approach is inherently human-centric, and I rely heavily on extensive user research, analysis, and data-driven design to truly understand the core challenges and build the right solution from the start.
Design Thinking
I've always naturally applied design thinking elements in my work, which eventually led me to formalise it with a Master's degree in Design Thinking at Central Saint Martins in London. It's not a magical formula, but it gives the best chance of arriving at the best solution.
Impact
I have successfully applied design thinking across a myriad of projects. At Medics.Academy, I led a platform redesign that triggered a 175% spike in sign-ups. I designed medical educational products that captured 56% of UK foundation doctors in a single year, and led the UX/UI for Nucleus, a genetics hub with Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital that was featured in a UK Government report. Additionally, I led the total redesign and rebuild of Smart Science, a patented US science education platform. My experience also extends to an autonomous vehicle experience for Volkswagen and an immersive retail space for Bvlgari.
Design Process
Teaching and consluting
Educational endeavours are a core part of my UX practice. I've spent years teaching this methodology to people who can use it to genuinely save lives, delivering Human-Centered Design lectures to nurses, hospital staff, senior doctors, and NHS consultants as a Faculty Tutor on the Medics.Academy Fellowship programme. I also regularly lead design thinking workshops and strategy sessions for major stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health in Malaysia, and the Healthcare Leadership Academy.
Artificial Intelligence
With the advent of generative artificial intelligence, the landscape of design has fundamentally shifted. As an early adopter, I am fully integrating advanced AI solutions directly into my creative workflow. This transition goes beyond mere ideation; it empowers me to build fully functional, working prototypes that mirror the final product from day one, drastically accelerating the bridge between design and code.
Artistic sensibility
I live and breathe UX, usability, and human-computer interaction. It’s a passion and a curse because I constantly find myself analyzing how everyday experiences could be engineered better. Backed by a vast foundation in visual communication, drawing, and graphic design, I’ve developed a razor-sharp aesthetic sensibility. This allows me to bridge high-level functionality with premium execution, creating digital products that are as visually striking as they are intuitive.
Ux and UI
I am a firm believer that form follows function, and that true function is delivered through form. Aesthetics and usability are inseparable; visual decisions like color theory, contrast, and typography are the information architecture itself. This expertise goes far beyond tools, spanning 3D graphics, 2D design, interactive WebGL, motion, animation, and traditional analog media. By treating every aesthetic detail as a functional component, I ensure that premium visual execution is precisely what drives an intuitive user experience.
